NIGHT AT THE RACES is Saturday,  February 20, 2010.  Please deliver your food to the Independence Fire Hall in Kingston!

The third payment of $100.00 for the band trip is due  February 21, 2010.

 If you have money outstanding for lottery calendars or candy bars, please turn it in.

Night at the Races  - Now that the lottery calendar returns are in and there has been a week of winners, it is time to shift gears and head into our next fundraiser.  All band and color guard members should have received a packet concerning the Night at the Races to give to their parents.  The packets were distributed before Christmas by Mr. K.  If anyone has not received one, please contact Tom McFarland at 328-5575 or 288-1305 to get one.

The packets themselves have all of the information in them and are pretty self-explanatory.  We do ask that all ad returns be made as soon as possible so we can print them up as they come in rather than a big rush at the end.  Ads can be sold to anyone and parents can even put their own message in the booklet.

Horse returns are due no later than February 13th.  This will allow time to break the horses down into races and get the booklet printed.

Remember, Night at the Races is one of our larger fundraisers and requires a great deal of planning and help.  Please get involved.  It benefits all of our children.

The date of the event is February 20th at 7:00 p.m.  It wil be held at the Independence Fire Hall in Kingston.  We hope to see you there.

Please get in touch with Tom McFarland if you are willing and able to work at the event or help with setup or cleanup.

The Band Trip has been set for May 6th through the 9th to New York City.  The total amount that will be due to the Wyoming Valley West Band Parents is $525.00.  That amount pays for the following:  Three nights lodging at the Radisson Hotel, Carteret, New Jersey and three breakfasts and dinners (including Hard Rock and Bubba Gumps).  We are being given a once in a lifetime opportunity to take part in "Broadway Classroom".  We will also perform at the South Street Seaport.  Some additional highlights of the trip will be visits to the Museum of Natural History, Top of the Rock, the Circle Line Cruise and attending the Broadway Play, "Bye Bye Birdie".  A deposit of $100.00 was required by December 1st to reserve your spot and $50.00 of that is non-refundable.  Your next payment is due  February 21, 2010.  The balance is due March 20, 2010.  NO ADDITIONAL RESERVATIONS WILL BE TAKEN.  Checks should be made out to the Wyoming Valley West Band Parents and given to Mrs. Novitski in Room 301.  If you have questions about your student account balance, please contact Mrs. Kester at 287-4823.  If you lost your trip information sheet/permission slip, please see Mr. K.   Please note that you will be responsible for your own lunches and spending money.

FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITY - Gertrude Hawk candy bars are now available through Mrs. Margalllis (Chelsea's mother).  There will be a limit (2 boxes at a time) issued per student unless the boxes are prepaid.  There is no limit if the candy has been prepaid.   If you didn't prepay,  once the money is turned in for any boxes issued, you can request one or two more boxes, etc.  If you are interested in earning money for your student account, please contact Mrs. Margallis at 288-2894 with any questions and/or to make arrangements.
